Top tips for keeping your pets safe on firework night
- using a pheromone diffuser or calming supplement to help stressed pets
- walk your dog earlier in the day
- keep your cat indoors for the night
- consider bringing rabbit and guinea pig hutches indoors, and providing extra bedding to hide in
- create a safe space for your pet indoors and provide plenty of hiding places
- turn up the TV/radio – Classic FM do a special programme each year around bonfire night, playing calming music specifically for our pets!
- close windows, curtains and blinds
- check for hedgehogs in bonfires before lighting them!
- where possible stay at home with your pets
- make sure your pet is microchipped and that your details are up to date!
