Ben qualified from Bristol Vet School in 2002 and has worked in mixed or farm animal practice ever since. He holds an ESVPS Certificate in Dairy Cattle Practice as well as an RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. As a result, Ben has an excellent knowledge base in dairy medicine and herd health. Ben has a particular interest in cattle fertility, lameness and infectious disease and has worked with a wide range of dairy systems. He has held a number of veterinary roles prior to joining South Moor, including a couple of years as a dairy vet in New Zealand, work in a specialist farm practice in Dorset and time at the Royal Veterinary College as a Lecturer in Large Animal Medicine and Food Animal Production Medicine. He mainly works from the Kingsbridge branch but is always on hand for team discussions and veterinary cover when required. He also leads a number of farm meetings and training days throughout the year, having most recently held a practical cattle foot trimming afternoon at the Ivybridge branch.
